WELP! The Lover says it’s official.
I don’t want to believe it,
He says I’m just in denial.
There is no way we’ve let it come to this. I am positive,
BUT he insists it’s so.
…
I hoard garbage.
HAH!
He tells me this a few weeks ago, when he opens up a cupboard door
and a zillion toilet paper rolls fall out.
OOPS.
Then again, when I won’t throw away the Jelly Jar.
And again when I tell him not to throw away the Salsa Jar or Baby Food Jars.
Listen, It’s not that I “hoard” garbage.
It’s just, well, you never know when you might need that brilliant piece of trash!
It all started last year, when I needed TP rolls for a project and just threw 10 away a few days prior. I vowed then and there “never again”.
And well… Just look at all these beauties waiting to be made!
You can find them on Etsy:
(but I suggest Flea Markets!)
What’s this you ask?
Oh, just Banana Bread in a Can!
And while this isn’t really a tin or a can.. it’s a canister.. and an awesome idea!
Do you keep things that others would just throw away?
Are you a garbage “hoarder” like me?! $
I added a few new cards to the shop. Check em out.

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! These are all beautiful usages of cans! I absolutely love the first picture. It's like deco art and storage space!
ReplyDeleteSo many great ideas! I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteThese are all so beautiful! I have never thought that repurposed cans can look so sweetly vintage and cool!
ReplyDeleteIf you can cut 2 tp rolls length wise, glue them together, cover with cloth, and make a sweet bangle!!!
ReplyDeletemaraley, great idea! i've seen those before.
ReplyDeletei have a whole post dedicated to reprposing TP rolls that i'm going to post in a few days. =)
OOOH Exciting! I'll be sure to use extra TP in the bathroom! HA!
ReplyDeleteTea tins are so fun, these are great ways to keep them out in the open and ready to be admired.
ReplyDeleteLove the tea tins and the glass sugar server- what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteEs como volver a los años 60
ReplyDeleteGreat upcycled creations! I always see the neatest tea tins at Marshall's, but sadly, don't drink tea and can't justify buying them! *tear*
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. Especially love the tea can planters. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour tins are gorgeous. I must admit I
ReplyDeletehorde "garbage" also. I cannot throw away boxes, even the ratty ones with black shoeprint marks on them from the UPS truck. You never know!!!
How wonderful!! I love cans, but I've never painted them. I'll have to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteSmiles,
Jen
Loooove this round up!! :) Coming over from the etsy blog team! Stumbled you! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat awesome inspiration- thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean about "hoarding" garbage- I save every scrap of ribbon and pretty paper I can find- from old projects, candy wrappers, tissue boxes... for cardmaking. It drives my boyfriend nuts!
But isn't it nice to say "I told you so" when you make something super awesome with "trash"?
You've got a lovley blog- thank you for sharing!!
I love all these cute ideas! We used tin cans at a wedding for the guest favors.
