DIY Chalkboard Paint- Make your own.

chalkboard paint
You can spend a pretty penny on a can of colored chalkboard paint, ORRRR you can whip some up yourself.

What you need:
1 C of LATEX paint
◦ 2 TBSP  Un-sanded Tile Grout (got mine @ Lowe’s)

Lets get started:
1. Mix paint and grout well, making sure to get all clumps out.
2. Paint and let dry completely.
3. Rub with 150 grit sanding block (or paper) and wipe off dust.
4. Condition by rubbing chalk all over and then erasing.

It’s THAT easy!
I just love the idea of painting a serving tray,
and then labeling what everything is.

  6. If you go to home depot you can get sample sizes of behr paint that are 7.5 oz. I got mine for less than $3 each. I just reduced the ammount of grout by a smidge and it worked perfectaly. PLUS no need to buy paint you don't need or make a mess measuring the paint and it's in it's own nicely labled container!
