When I woke up on Wednesday to the sun shinning, I knew we had to do something outside. After being cooped up inside for two days, fresh air was a MUST. There’s not a WHOLE lot to do in Dickson TN, so when I came across an article about an historic hotel museum and train station I knew it was where we were heading.
The clouds rolled in by the time we left, but the rain held off and the temp. was perfect for running around.
It was great, because the historic hotel was right next to this lovely little park. Not a park like we’re used to going to, with slides and swings. No, this park was just a grassy area with a fountain and benches and a pathway. Adelyn loved it. She played under the trees, ran like a wild child through the grass and watched the trains as they passed.

My little “old man” hah. He’s such a ham.
Yes, this park is perfect. Nestled right in downtown Dickson. Who knew?!
We had more fun at the park than in the museum… but that I figured. Museums are not for toddlers. They did have a scale town of what Dickson looked like in the 20’s. It was pretty neat, and Adelyn loved the train that went around town… but the gentleman that was telling us about it.. lets just say he really likes scale models. HAH. (read in geezer voice: “ya see this here ole car …………………….. that there is 80 little pieces…………………………….. ya gotta take tweezers……………………. that right here is the steerin wheel………………” OMG)
It was the perfect day!
