OK. So this is the outfit I wore to Thanksgiving dinner. I didn’t get any good shots because I was the one behind the camera. So I put it back on the other day and HAD to share it with you. For this reason and this reason only: When I walked out from getting dressed, Thanksgiving day, my brother asked me why I was dressed like a grandma. WHAT! I totally thought I looked cute… but he kept saying that I looked like a grandma.
A few days later, after I put the kids to bed, we went out for a few drinks. He turned 21 over the summer, and I had yet to buy him his first legal drink. When I went to go get dressed, he looked at me and said “Sis, wear something cute, don’t come out looking like a grandma again. Your 26, no 86” HAH! (Isn’t he so charming?!)
What do you think. Do you think I look like I’m dressed as a grandmother?

ReplyDeleteNah, I like it :) Especially those boots.
ReplyDeletelovely skirt and tights
ReplyDeletegreat look!
Like someone else said "Retro vintage is in" but what do they know
ReplyDeleteI think your brother missed the memo that ruffled tops are not just for grandmas anymore! You looks beautiful and your outfit is young & hip!! Boys just don't understand!! :)
ReplyDeleteyour hair is way too cute to look like a grandma.
ReplyDeleteI think its that the sleeves are so long - I like the shirt, but the sleeves... idk LOVE the skirt though!
ReplyDeleteI think you look really cute. My grandma definitely would not wear colored tights or ankle boots. I love vintage things with a little modern twist.
ReplyDeleteyou are soooo pretty, friend! love the tights esp. paired with that skirt. too cute!
ReplyDeleteThe tights def kept it young and fun. Finding a boy that appreciates fashion is tough, they are such suckers for the simple stuff!
ReplyDeleteLove it!
ReplyDeleteWell, I love this so much that I had to pin it! The combination of ruffles and polka dots and color is just perfect. But then again, I am 34, so your brother might think I actually AM a grandma. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy grandmother would not wear this outfit! I think your brother has no sense of style (at least when it comes to women's fashion). I really like this outfit, especially the shocking blue tights!
ReplyDeleteDisagree with your brother...popped in from wiww because I loved the outfit and the graphic statement your thumbnail made...just beautiful!! Fabulous post!
ReplyDeletewhat a fun outfit I'd love you to add this to my what we wore and made party over at http://raegunwear.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteso cute!! love it. not grandmother-esque at all.
ReplyDeleteno you do NOT look like a grandmother, but a runway inspired black & white vision with a pop of midnight blue & chanel fall 2010 hair.
