I spent yesterday evening hand embroidering this lovely little hoop to announce his name to the world.
I've been calling him this for awhile now. Yesterday, for the first time, Craig referred to him by name... Abel.
It hit me, YES, this is his name.
My baby Abel.It hit me, YES, this is his name.
Abel Cash.

As far as this little project, it's the very first time I've ever played with embroidery, but I'm quite pleased with how it turned out!!! I'm especially in love with the appliqué pennant hot air balloon! And the colors are just perfect.
I plan on adding his birth date onto the balloon once he's here too.
I have to admit: I was totally intimidated at first, because I truly do not know ONE thing about hand embroidery, but it really wasn't as bad as I thought. Of course, I just used a simple backstitch, which made it all the more easier. This will definitely not be my last embroidery project! It was fun watching the letters come to life.
If you've ever thought about trying your hand at embroidery, I highly suggest taking a stab at it. You might just get the itch to stitch. (a side of humor anyone??)
ALSO: If you are into embroidery or sewing, be sure to check back in a few days. I have a fun little project/tutorial you're sure to LOVE!!!
xoxo
I love your baby name!!! And you did a great job
ReplyDeleteCute name. And the first time you tried embroidery, you came up with this? You are superwoman!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job and so cute name!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool name! Great job on this project! I was really intimidated the first time I tried embroidery too. I bought a kit at Micheal's to make an embroidered pillow and it came with all of the appliques, thread, instructions, etc. It was a great way to learn and I loved it! I couldn't believe how easy it was! This blog has good resources and video tutorials for embroidery: http://wendigratz.blogspot.com/

Oh my gosh. I'm in love with that name! Although, with a last name like Cash, it'd be hard to go wrong ;)
