vision boards

vision boards

I’m still enjoying the one little word class and prompts keeping my word for the year visible. February’s goal was to create a vision board centered around your word. It’s been at least a decade since I’ve created an actual vision board with magazines and glue. But I found it was actually a lot of fun.

Adelyn and I had a girls weekend planned for the first weekend of February to Tallahassee. So I went to the bookstore, picked up tons of magazines for us to cut up, grabbed some 16x20 canvases and spray adhesive then we set out for our girls weekend.

Saturday night, after a full day of ballet. We picked up pizza , ate it in bed while watching Gilmore Girls., and after the pizza was finished we started ripping out pages of magazines. Anything we saw that we loved was tore out. Photo’s, words- all of it. It was really fun walking her through the process and then combining it all together in one space.

My top favorite magazines, not only for vision boards- but for flipping through too! Definitely subscribed to quite a few of these after this project & can’t wait to pick up more from the bookstore throughout the year.

I create a sort of vision journal every year, with inspirational quotes, goals & dreams, which I still did this year, but creating this type of ‘old school’ vision board is something I think i’ll make a habit of with the kids- especially Adelyn, at the start of each year.
