Our fourth was low key. Gloomy. Lots of rain. We spent $9 on a package of fireworks. The quality was about as low-key as it gets, but the kids don't know the difference. Adelyn went through two boxes of sparklers, since Stone wanted nothing to do with them. Bibbity Bobbity Boo she kept saying, and then something about turning into a garden fairy. Don't ask. They got to stay up way past their bedtime, search the sky for fireworks, from neighbors, who spent a lot more than $9, and watch the NYC Fireworks on TV.
A special THANK YOU to our servicemen and women for allowing us to celebrate this day of freedom at home, with our families, while so many of them are missing home right now.
